Answers about procedures, safety and contraindications
What is hydrotherapy and who is it suitable for?
Hydrotherapy is a healing process using water of different temperatures (baths, showers, wraps). It is effective for people with chronic pain, stress, insomnia, circulatory disorders, as well as for general immunity strengthening. We select the technique individually for each person.
Are there any contraindications to the procedures?
Yes, safety comes first. We do not perform procedures if the patient has chills («goose bumps»), a full stomach (immediately after eating) or a state of acute emotional distress. There are also restrictions at certain stages of cardiovascular disease, which we take into account during the consultation.
Are the procedures safe for the heart and the elderly?
Yes, we adapt the programme to your age and heart condition. For example, we avoid high-pressure hot baths, replacing them with safer warm or localised procedures. We also adhere to the «right side rule» (we start the impact from the periphery) so as not to overload the heart.
How often do I need to attend the procedures?
It depends on your goal. For general health improvement and prevention, 2-3 times a week is enough. For active rehabilitation or acute stress relief, the course may include daily short sessions. The schedule is drawn up by a specialist.
What water temperature do you use?
Temperature is our medicine.
Warm water: to relieve pain and calm the nervous system.
Cool/Contrast: to stimulate immunity and blood circulation.
Hot: for deep muscle relaxation (only if there are no contraindications).
Do you treat with water only?
No, we take a holistic approach. Hydrotherapy works best when combined with the 8 principles of health: proper nutrition, physical activity, sleep patterns and spiritual balance. We give lifestyle recommendations to help you maintain the results of your treatments.
What is the «right-hand side rule»?
This is the gold standard of safety in hydrotherapy. We start any exposure to water (dousing, wrapping, entering the water) on the right side of the body. This helps the body to smoothly adapt to temperature changes and reduces the load on the heart, which is located on the left.
